Q: What is document research?

A: A Landman will go out to a courthouse and perform title research of the documents of record in the specific courthouse needed. Find the document and retain a copy from the county clerk, also retain copies of any other supporting documents that may help with the specific title needed of record. This usually is done in one day, but time frames may vary.

Q: What is an ownership report?

A: A ownership report is a report that is generated by a Landman to calculate the specific ownership in a given tract or parcel of land. This is done at the county courthouse and/or online if the records permit. This report includes a plat map, surface ownership, mineral ownership, title notes, Oil & Gas leases for mineral owners, and more.
